Lanvin for H&M

The wait is almost done! Only 3 more days to go before Lanvin's H&M collection comes out. (November 2nd) How awesome is this! and yet sad because we cannot order online : ( , well at least not straight from H&M. They should put on an online shop.

Alber Elbaz, the designer of Lanvin, has created this sophisticated chick, floral pattern bold black color dresses for H&M. Love them all! Beautiful designs, and a bit more than what you would usually pay for an H&M dress, but hey! Its Lanvin and it's a higher end clothing line, but no more than US$100. Isn't that GREAT?


La espera casi termina! Sólo 3 días mas para que la línea de Lanvin en H&M salga. (2 de Noviembre) Qué emoción! a la misma vez triste porque no lo podemos pedir online : ( , bueno por lo menos no directamente de H&M. Ellos deberían de poner un shop online.

Bellos diseños y bueno un poco más caro de lo usual para un vestido de H&M, pero bueno! es Lanvin y es más superior que lo usual. Les prometo que no sobrepasa de US$100. No es esto estupendo?

This makes me so happy.  The Sound of Music 45th Year reunion at the Oprah Winfrey Show. I've been waiting for this since it was announced a couple of months ago.  All the original cast! Enjoy! :)

Esto me hace tan feliz.   Hace ya 45 años del estreno de The Sound of Music. Acá esta la reunion con todo el elenco original de la película.  LLevo esperando esto desde que lo anunciaron par de meses atrás.  Disfruten!

With all the Halloween hype going on and with the date around the corner, people are now coming out with their costumes. As this year predicted, we will be seeing a lot of celebrities doppelgänger such as Lady Gaga of course, another Lady Gaga (there are just too many Lady Gaga costumes to choose from!), Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Ke$ha, the Na'vi from Avatar, even Lindsay Lohan with the SCRAM bracelet made it to the list. But not to forget the infamous and trashy MTV reality tv, the cast of 'Jersey Shore'- Snooki, JWOWW, the Situation, Pauly D and others (?). 

And something Ellen Degeneres wouldn't let it slip away is the famous Snooki's puff! Check it out below! So far, the most innovative of all costumes seen this year. C'mon funny comedians, bring up your costumes! 

Con todo la emoción del Halloween y acercándonos a la fecha de celebración, las personas han estado enseñando sus disfraces. La predicción de este año es que veremos muchos dobles de celebridades como Lady Gaga claro, otra Lady Gaga (hay tantos disfraces de Lady Gaga para escoger!), Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Ke$ha, los Na'Vi de Avatar, hasta Lindsay Lohan llegó ser parte de la lista con su traje de prisionera y el pulsera de SCRAM. Days: 11,12 and 13 !!

 Hey! I see we've been behind in our posts about our Fashion Design classes, so here's a quick compilation of what we have done in Days: 11,12 and 13:

• Tons of sewing exercises on fabric, how to sew different types of buttons, etc.

• Moved on from drawing hands to drawing feet.

• Our two-dimensional design midterm consisted in making an "envelope" shaped purse.  We had to paint a special type of fabric with white acrylic paint and paint a design in black with guidelines given by the teacher.

• Moved on from making skirt patters to shirt patters. 

Now, after spending the entire afternoon in the University, its homework time! Need to draw a ton of feet with charcoal.

Hey! Veo que estamos atrasadas con nuestras entradas sobre nuestras clases de Diseño de Modas. Así que acá les dejo una rapida recopilacion de lo que hemos hecho en los Días: 11,12 y 13.

• Muchos ejercicios de costura, como coser distintos tipos de botones, etc

• Nuestro parcial de Diseño Bidimensional consistió en hacer una cartera con forma de sobre.  Tuvimos que pintar una tela especial con pinturablanco acrilicio y hacerle un diseño de negros, tomando en cuenta los pedidos de la Profesora.

• Pasamos de hacer patrones de falda a patrones de camisa.

Ahora, despues de pasar la tarde entera en la Universidad, es hora de hacer tareas! Necesito dibujar muchos pies con carboncillo.

Carlos de Moya at Dominicana Moda 2010

Hi all! Just wanted to share with you guys one of our acclaimed designers of Dominican Republic, Carlos de Moya. I was lucky to have assisted his fashion show at Dominicana Moda 2010.
This year concept's was PULOWI, about primitive and beautiful woman. All designs were very detailed with accessories, they gave a very fresh feeling, free and relaxing. Well since the concept also includes beach (because we live in an island), he used a lot of shells, fishing nets and light fabrics. I personally LOVED it! I am going to randomly choose some pictures since I can't put every single one, hopefully you will like it as much as I do!

Hola todos! Quiero compartir con ustedes uno de nuestros famosos diseñadores de República Dominicana, Carlos de Moya. Tuve la suerte de presenciar la pasarela en Dominicana Moda 2010. 
El concepto de este año era PULOWI, mujer primigenia y bella. Todos los diseños eran detallados con accesorios, daban un sentido fresco, liberado y relajado. Bueno, como el concepto también incluía playa (porque vivimos en una isla), el utilizó muchas conchas, mallas de pescar y telas ligeras. Personalmente a mi me FASCINÓ! Voy a seleccionar algunas fotos al azar para ponerlas aquí ya que no puedo poner cada uno, espero que a ustedes les guste tanto como a mí me gusta!

Reebok just came out  with these sneakers featuring Hello Kitty’s iconic red bow.  There are 3 colors available: white, black and pink. Only available in Japan.   I'm in love with the black ones, Hello Kitty was a part of my childhood so i have a soft spot for her hahaha.  These kicks retail for about $150 .

Reebok acaba de lanzar estos tenis de Hello Kitty, siendo el atractivo principal su tan famoso lazo rojo.  Vienen en 3 colores: blanco, negro y rosado.  Solamente disponible en Japon.  Estoy enamorada de los de negro, Hello Kitty formó parte de mi niñez y siempre le tendre cariño jajjajaja.   Estos tenis cuestan alrededor de los $150.

Dominicana Moda 2010: FINAL/ENDING

Yesterday was the last day of DOMINICANA MODA :( 

Wish it would last forever.  It was so much fun! 

 Ayer fue el último dia de Dominicana Moda :(
Desearía que durara para siempre. Fue tan divertido!

 Marilyn and I was suppose to go to the Giannina Azar show: "Future Couture", unfortunately the tickets were oversold and A LOT of people missed it.  We were very bummed, being that Giannina's collection was very Gaga inspired and thats always fun to watch.

Marilyn y yo estabamos supuestas ir al desfile de Giannina Azar: "Future Couture", desafortunadamente vendieron taquillas demás y MUCHAS personas lo perdieron.  Estabamos desilusionadas, porque supuestamente la colección de Giannina fue inspirado en Lady Gaga y eso siempre es divertido de ver.

It wasn't all lost though,  the event organizers made up for their lack of organization and let us get into the next fashion show...Sexy man...yes, half naked men modelling underwear.  A show mostly filled with cougars and gay men. It was RANDOM, It was HILARIOUS,  It was AWKWARD and i repeat it was HILARIOUS.

Pero no todo estuvo perdido!, para enmendar su falta de organizacion los organizadores del evento, nos dejo entrar al proximo fashion show...Sexy Man...si, hombres medio desnudos desfilando ropa interior. Un desfile lleno en su mayoria, de Mujeres muy adultas y gays.  QUE DIFERENTE, que RISA...que RISA.  Fue demasiado divertido :)

We've neglected the blog! Oh the horror! 
Last week consisted of constant studying for midterms and exhaustion. Bummer.    This week has been filled with DOMINICANA MODA 2010, a week filled with designers, models and of course fashion. YAY.

We got to meet top model Arlenis Sosa. She is such a sweet girl, insanely nice, insanely tall.

Although I love that song because it's catchy and the rhythm is very nice but the Lyrics are seriously violent.

I remember when I read the lyrics off someone's facebook post (Imma tie her to the bed and set this house on fire), I was like Omg, I did not know you condone violence! And my friend just replied saying how I've never heard of that song.

Today I sing it with all my voice. Lol. but without paying attention to the lyrics.

Day 10, Día 10

So I'm just going to skip to day 10 because seriously, Day 9 didn't happen much. And I have to say, the teacher doesn't really know how to teach. It sucks because both of the classes (Pattern and Sewing) are imparted by her. It sucks.

But Day 10 very interesting :) . We have our first midterm of Two-dimensional Class! I am excited. lol. We have to create our first pattern! and then use it to create a purse! How awesome is that!

Anyway, so last time i showed my two dimensional class work. This time, Im going to post a picture of my Anatomical Drawing homework. Which is draw our hands holding an object.

From left to right: 1st hand is holding an ace card, 2nd hand is holding a pocket mirror, 3rd hand is tangled with a necklace.

Next time, for Anatomical Drawing we will have to draw our feet! Yuck, I don't really like feet. Don't really know how that is gonna go, but hopefully I can nail it. :P

Yesterday we handed in our 2nd homework and once again because of the rectangle I did the work wrong. All the figures were supposed to be the same size, but oh well.
