Day 10, Día 10

So I'm just going to skip to day 10 because seriously, Day 9 didn't happen much. And I have to say, the teacher doesn't really know how to teach. It sucks because both of the classes (Pattern and Sewing) are imparted by her. It sucks.

But Day 10 very interesting :) . We have our first midterm of Two-dimensional Class! I am excited. lol. We have to create our first pattern! and then use it to create a purse! How awesome is that!

Anyway, so last time i showed my two dimensional class work. This time, Im going to post a picture of my Anatomical Drawing homework. Which is draw our hands holding an object.

From left to right: 1st hand is holding an ace card, 2nd hand is holding a pocket mirror, 3rd hand is tangled with a necklace.

Next time, for Anatomical Drawing we will have to draw our feet! Yuck, I don't really like feet. Don't really know how that is gonna go, but hopefully I can nail it. :P

Love,
M*

Day 6.

Sorry guys for not updating daily!
Well, we've been busy these couple of days because we had tests and lots of homework, hence the lack of updates. But we are going to recompense for the days that we didn't.

So on Day 6, Carolina missed classes because she had a situation. I was left alone with other classmates. :(
That day we had to hand in our first homework to the teacher, and not just hand it in but show it to all the classroom for them to criticize or judge whatever we did.

I think I did fairly well according to the judges (other classmates) and I felt bad for judging so cruelly for those who didn't do so well. I feel like I'm the mean one of the class. You know when there's a reality competition on T.V., there is always one that says they don't want to make any friends because their main objective is to win the competition, ... Well, I feel like they think I am one of those people. Hahaha.

Anyway, we didn't do much on thursday. But the teachers did give new lessons on how to draw with coal. Now our homework is to paint the shadows on the hands that we drew with coal. Pretty interesting. I like working with coal.

This is one of my work for the Illustration class, painted with Indian Ink.

Will be posting more,
Estaremos publicando más,

Day 4: Draw, draw, draw ...paint

Posted by Carolina

Today was Day 4 in our journey in Fashion Design.

Last class was all about the manufacturing of the clothes, today was all about: Design.

Sketching, learning about brushes and pens; talking about everything from art therapy to how Chanel raise their own sheep to manufacture their notorious tweed jackets...

... and we found out that in our Illustration class we will work with Indian Ink the ENTIRE semester.

India Ink (Click for more info) //Tinta China (Click para más info)
It's messy, it's easily scattered and apparently it dries super fast, which leaves hardly any time to correct an error.   Our teacher wants every assignment to be flawless, which means any little itty bitty error will be taken into consideration and will have to be repeated until it's perfect.
(We will write about our experiences with this ink and post pictures of our work, once we start).

In Anatomic Drawing, we continued drawing hands,
"If you master the art of drawing hands and feet, you can draw any other body part"- Teacher

 ------

So far, everything has been going absolutely perfect.
Hasta ahora, todo perfecto

Waiting for next class!,
Esperando con ansias, la próxima clase!

Previous experiences/Experiencias previas:

Dominican History

I know our past is important, it is beneficiary to learn the reason how we have come to be how we are in present day. But if it gets repetitive, then is just plain boring.
Right now, I am encountering this dull class.

The weather outside is pouring rain, windy with a touch of thunder. The greatest combination to sleep and as a bonus, we get a monotonous voice of the teacher as lullaby.

I must confess, I have been hallucinating, but I am NOT on drugs.
Just Sleep Deprived.

But hey, I'm a normal person.
Just how James Franco is as well. :)

Sleepy,
M*

M*
