Put on some red lipstick and live a little...

I believe in coffee, a good book and red lipstick.

I have tried many brands of red lipstick but my favorite so far has been Ruby Woo by Mac. It is one of their best sellers. It looks AMAZING on most skin tones and it will survive drinks, food and as the Mac make up artist that sold it to me put it: "A long ass makeout session".

Cons: Let me warn you that this IS a matte lipstick meaning that it is super dry and you may need to moisturize your lips beforehand so you won't get that annoying "dry sensation".

But If long lasting lipstick is not on the top of your priorities and you want a red lipstick that is both good and on the inexpensive side, I recommend Velvet Finish Lipstick by Forever 21. I bought it just to try it out and was pleasantly surprised with it. This lipstick feels super soft on your lips and the shade of red is exactly how it looks in the picture.

He utilizado pintalabios rojos de distintas marcas pero hasta el momento mi favorito ha sido Ruby Woo de Mac. Es uno de los más vendidos de la marca. Se ve INCREIBLE en la mayoría de los diferentes tonos de piel y sobrevivirá bebidas, comida y como me dijo la maquillista de Mac: "Muchos besos".

Contras: Les advierto que este pintalabios ES matte, lo cual significa que es seco y puede ser que necesites hidratar los labios antes de aplicarlo para evitar esa sensación de resequedad incómoda.

En caso de que te de igual cuántas horas te dure el pintalabio y quieres un rojo que sea bueno, bonito y barato, te recomiendo Velvet Finish de Forever 21. Lo puedes encontrar en su tienda virtual. Lo compré para probar y me sorprendio lo lindo que es. Se siente súper suave en los labios y el rojo es exactamente igual como aparece en la foto.

Some MAJOR Holiday for the Asians Today!

Today is the day we Asians celebrate and receive a lot of Red Envelopes! (other words: $$$$$) Yep! You get money just because your are a kid (which I'm still considered- thank you), or just because!

Also, #SorryButNotSorry to all the adults out there who has to hand them out.

This coming year is my year, the Horse year. If you are asian or understand the Chinese Horoscope you could probably guess how old I would be turning this year but I'm hoping you wouldn't.

Now lets get to business and learn something:

It is also called the Lunar New Year because it is referred to the lunisolar calendar (follows the phases of the moon).
The Horse is a symbol of of traveling, competition and victory, therefore horse has been a symbol to a speedy success in China.
Here's a common saying we all know: "In order to receive, you have to give out". And that's why it is tradition to give in order to receive more in this New Year, I'm talking about them Red Envelopes.
The Red is believed to drive away any bad luck, hence the red envelopes with poems to bring luck.

Aren't you just jealous?

Hoy es el día donde nosotros los Asiáticos celebramos y recibiremos muchos Sobres Rojos! (en otras palabras: $$$$$)

Así es! Recibes dinero sólo porque eres niño (aún soy considerada como una - gracias), o simplemente porque sí!

También, #LoSientoPeroNoLoSiento a todos los adultos que tienen que entregar los sobres.

Este año es mi año, el del Caballo. Si eres asiático o entiendes el Horóscopo Chino, probablemente ya puedes saber cuántos años cumplo pero espero que no calcules.

Ahora, unos detalles para que conozcas:

El Año Nuevo Chino también se le llama Año Nuevo Lunar porque es referido al calendario lunar (de acuerdo a las fases de la luna).
El Caballo es símbolo de viajes, competencia y victoria, por esto el caballo se considera como el símbolo de éxito rápido.
Una frase que todos conocemos: "Si quieres recibir, debes de dar" y es por esto que es una tradición que debes de dar para recibir más en este Nuevo Año (sabes que me refiero a los sobres rojos).
El Rojo es considerado el color que ataca la mala suerte, por esto los sobres son rojos con poemas para atraer más suerte.

Because who didn't like the book?

This is, for me at least, one of the most anticipated movie of the year! I truly cannot wait until it comes out. But in the meantime we got ourselves the trailer! (Finally)

Tears just came rolling down as the scenes reminded me full on the book.

Porque a quién no le gustó el libro 'Bajo la misma Estrella'? Este es, bueno para mí, una de las películas mas esperadas del año! Y de verdad no puedo esperar más pero por lo menos ahora tenemos el trailer! (Finalmente)

This year has been filled with wonderful opportunities for me. I was able to fufill my dream of going to Europe with my closest friends with an Itinenary made by us.

We started out in Madrid, continued to Paris, followed by Amsterdam, Pisa, Firenze, Roma then back to Spain, to Barcelona and finally Madrid once again. It was amazing to have travelled that much being the Wanderlust that I am.

It may seem like I have neglected the blog (and I have), but McQueenBeep, is still in my heart.

I'm back! I'll be bringing you guys travel stories, tips, places to go, music and basically anything Pop Culture related, this is my passion.

Homemade Facial Masks

Oatmeal Facial Mask

I was raised to be a facial mask lover. I’ve been making them since I was a young girl.

Why spend money on already made facials which sometimes have dangerous chemicals in it, when you can make it yourself?

The best facial masks are those you can do with basic ingredients from your own home. It’s easy, beneficial; you will feel like a bad ass, and also the keyword: it’s CHEAP.

I want to share with you, two of my favorite and easy to do facial masks.

Note: Remember to wash your face before putting on a facial mask.

Oatmeal Facial: Hydrates skin and leaves it feeling extra smooth. This is an incredible natural black head remover as well.

You need:

-Oatmeal

-Milk

-Honey

Preparation:

1- Take a bowl and add a few spoonful’s of oatmeal.

(The quantity depends on how much you want to make)

2- Add a little bit of milk and or honey (The honey is optional but makes the mask way better). Don’t let the milk drown the oatmeal; just add enough to make it wet.

3- Mix it up, till you get a paste.

4-Put it on your face, avoiding eyes and lips and leave it till it hardens, this usually takes up to 20 minutes.

5- Once it’s dry, remove with warm water.

Egg White Mask: It’s a natural facelift; tightens your skin, good deep cleansing effect, smooth skin, whitens skin as well.

You need:

-Egg

Preparation:

1- Crack open an egg in half and pour the egg white into a small bowl.

2-Mix it until you see little bubbles appear.

3- Apply the egg white all over your face with a cotton ball.

4- You will feel your face “tighten”. Leave it on till it completely dries.

5- Once it dries, remove with warm water.

We're alive! College, work and life in general took its toll this summer but we're still in love with the blog. :)

I've been listening to Nicki Minaj's album "Pink Friday" non stop. A couple of my favorite songs of the album are Roman's Revenge (feat.Eminem) and Blow Ya Mind. You guys should check her out, she's talented. Also! Check out Nicki in the October Issue of Glamour. Loving it.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were my childhood. Full House was my favorite show ever, I owned all their straight to VHS movies since they were little kids to teenagers and watched them repeateadly.

I have followed/bought clothes from their "Mary Kate and Ashley" for Wal-Mart when I was a kid and currently following their couture fashion label "The Row" and my favorite high end yet young line "Elizabeth and James". Here they are looking absolutely divine at the CFDA Fashion Awards held in New York City yesterday.

Ps: I can't believe they're turning 25 this year.

I've been a Daria fan since it premiered on MTV in 1997. Daria is a spin-off of the animated "Beavis and Butt-head" series. She used to appear as a recurring character. I love her sarcasm, her music tastes, her remarks, she's amazing. So imagine my surprise, when i wake up to the news about a real life Daria movie!. This could either be amazing or a train wreck...either way, you know I'm watching.

He sido fan de Daria desde que inicio en MTV en el 1997. Daria es un personaje derivado de la serie original de MTV "Beavis y Butt-head". Solía aparecer como un personaje recurrente. Amo su sarcasmo, su amor por la música, sus comentarios. Es mi programa animado preferido. Así que imaginense mi sorpresa, al enterarme que haran una pelicula de Daria en "vida real". Esto puede ser asombroso o un disparate...pero sea lo que sea, esten seguros que lo vere!
