I've been a Daria fan since it premiered on MTV in 1997. Daria is a spin-off of the animated "Beavis and Butt-head" series. She used to appear as a recurring character. I love her sarcasm, her music tastes, her remarks, she's amazing. So imagine my surprise, when i wake up to the news about a real life Daria movie!. This could either be amazing or a train wreck...either way, you know I'm watching.
He sido fan de Daria desde que inicio en MTV en el 1997. Daria es un personaje derivado de la serie original de MTV "Beavis y Butt-head". Solía aparecer como un personaje recurrente. Amo su sarcasmo, su amor por la música, sus comentarios. Es mi programa animado preferido. Así que imaginense mi sorpresa, al enterarme que haran una pelicula de Daria en "vida real". Esto puede ser asombroso o un disparate...pero sea lo que sea, esten seguros que lo vere!

I'm all up for Aubrey Plaza as Daria, don't know about Emily Osment as Quinn though. We'll find out soon enough! So excited!

I'm still not convinced with the american version of Skins, but the new season of Skins UK is amazing. Loving the new cast, specially Grace and Matty. Here is an interview/photo shoot of them in Heat Magazine.

Fun fact: The TV show gets its name from the standard rolling paper which gets filled with marijuana, known as “skins”.

I started watching Skins UK since its premiere in 2007, had read about it somewhere and in a moment of boredom decided to give it a go and watch it online. The first episode was…boring, but Tony looked good so I decided to not judge so rapidly and continued watching, as the show kept on progressing, each episode got better and last thing I know: I was hooked.
Comenzé a ver Skins UK desde su lanzamiento en el 2007 había leído sobre el programa en algún sitio y en un momento de aburrición, me puse a verlo online. El primer episodio fue…aburrido, pero Tony se veía bien así que decidí no juzgarlo tan rápidamente y lo continué viendo. Al transcurrir los capítulos, la serie fue mejorando hasta convertirme en fiel seguidora del programa.
Then series two came along…then series three (with a complete different cast), then series four…soon series five (will premiere next year with a new cast). -Skins change cast every two seasons, in order to keep the novelty factor.
Luego vino la Segunda temporada…luego la tercera (con un elenco totalmente diferente), luego la cuarta temporada….y proximamente viene la quinta (se estrenará el próximo año con un nuevo elenco). –Skins cambia de elenco cada dos temporadas para conservar el “factor de novedad”.
The show is all about sex, drugs, heavy drinking and all the struggles that come with being a teenager.
El show trata sobre todo de sexo, drogas, el abuso del consume de alcohol y las luchas que se presentan cuando se es adolescente.
Now the same makers of Skins UK have created Skins USA…yes! The exact same show but based in the states, aka American accents. This wasn’t exactly a shocker the States have done remakes of various famous english shows. Greatest example: The Office and the soon to come out “Shameless”.
Ahora los creadores originals de Skins UK lanzan una version Norteamericana llamada Skins USA…SI! Exactamente el mismo show PERO basado en Estados Unidos, osea, acentos norteamericanos. Esto no viene de sorpresa ya que, Estados Unidos sufre con hacer sus propias adaptaciones de programas ingleses. El mejor ejemplo: The Office y el próximamente a estrenarse “Shameless”.
I won’t judge until I watch but let’s be honest USA have annoying strict viewership guidelines for TV shows….you can’t curse (I mean REALLY curse..the naughty stuff), you can’t clearly consume drugs and you can’t show any type of nudity nor clear sex scenes.
No juzgare hasta que vea el programa, pero seamos honestos, los Estados Unidos tiene demasiadas reglas estrictas en lo concerniente con programas televisivas…asi que no dudo que Skins USA será una versión muy censurada de Skins UK.
Obviously if the show were to be on HBO or Showtime you could..but that’s another thing Skins USA is being made by MTV. The same network that gives: My Super Sweet Sixteen will show skins. Surely they won’t allow the same level of raunchiness Skins UK possess, so Skins USA will be a toned down version of Skins UK.
Obviamente si el show estuviera en HBO o SHOWTIME, no habria razon de censura PERO Skins USA saldrá por MTV. La misma cadena que da: Mis Super Dulce 16. No creo que MTV permita el mismo nivel de “obscenidad” que la versión inglesa.

We’ll see how it’ll turn out once it premieres.

Harry Potter, the cast (Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint and Tom Felton) were doing an interview with Josh Horowitz for MTV and they were asked to do the American 'Accent'.

Funny! Hahaha, they were pretty good. Although I would like it better if it were longer phrases, but oh well, I take all I can get from them! <3
Oh, and it includes 'ditching' another franchise. Lol. Although Not Quite.
